Barnbrook Bar & Grill

The Barnbrook Grill has recently had a complete refurb, and owners, Sharon and Scott have successfully managed to retain the traditional charm of a village pub, combined with a modern, bistro style.

The menu is not, of itself, very exceptional, with a range of steaks (priced at around 19), lasagne, pie, scampi and haddock (at around 8) and specials like cajun chicken and tiger prawns (at around 12).

However, the simple menu allows the chef to cook everything fresh and the food itself is all the better for it.

The wine list too, offers quality rather than quantity, with a selection from Wakefield importer HB Clark. An excellent 'Grant Burge' Shiraz was 15.95

The whole place has a feel-good factor about it with pleasant staff and a comfortable atmosphere.
