Gate of India
On the evening we turned up, Gate of India was packed with more guests waiting in the overcrowded bar area, so what else to do, other than try their take-away!
There was no doubt that this restaurant captured a superb atmosphere and from the humming conversations everyone was pleased to wait a little extra time to be served.
Fabulous home made breads straight from the oven are what gives the Gate of India its deserved reputation, and although the menu is pretty conventional they obviously prefer to stick with a winning formula rather than being innovative.
Price wise they’re hard to beat and with a saving of 10% against restaurant prices you really wouldn’t need to cook at home. They even threw in a beer while the take-away was being prepared!
And of course the great thing with Indian food is that it does travel!!
Definitely a place to go back to, but remember to book in advance!!
