Get an early years qualification for free...

FREE early years courses are still available from Barnsley Council’s Adult Learning service.

People who do not have a full level 2 qualification can access the certificate or diploma in pre-school practice course, with no charge. Early years courses are also free to people in receipt of benefits.

There are places on level 2 classes on Thursday evenings and Wednesday mornings and on level 3 on Thursday mornings and Tuesday afternoons.

The course is two years long, but people can double up to get qualified in a year if that is what they would prefer to do. It is one half day a week in class and one half day in placement for Certificate in Preschool Practice and a full day for Diploma in Preschool Practice.

At the end of the course learners will achieve a recognised early years qualification for a career in an early years setting.
