Art show gives coal industry a sparkle
BARNSLEY'S industrial history will be explored in a new art exhibition at Elsecar Heritage Centre. Black Gold at the Hive Gallery opens tomorrow and features artworks relating to coal mining.Accompanying Patrick's work in the exhibition will be pieces by contemporary Barnsley-based artists John Ledger, Jo Pearson, Mikk Murray and Barrie Jones.
The work will reflect the artists' own personal relationships with the town and its history. The exhibition, which features wall pieces, sculptures and floor installations, runs until March 7.
