Free on a Mondays? Want to experiment in colour? Join us at Top Draw for some innovative life sessions.
July is full of light and colour. We're taking full advantage with our programme to challenge and stretch those skills and help you to look at light, shade, tone and colour in a life room environment.
Our first session is on light and shade. We'll be using the natural light in the life room to create some dramatic compositions using the body and sheer material to create loads of depth, so you can really get your teeth into creating form using shade.
Our second session is building on that work. Inspired by Claude Lorrain's use of one colour to create multiple tones, we'll be exploring this method of building tone, from the model.
Our third session is inspired by Modigliani. This will be the monthly painter's session. Expect lots of colour and subtle blending to create warmth and form. Mick will be supporting by demoing the art of layering colours to change the tone, depth and range.
To finish our working sessions for July we'll be looking at the role contrasting colour takes in creating different moods and perspectives.
The final week will see us all off to Leeds Art Gallery to see how it's done, so we can reflect on our months labour.
Join us on the 1st Floor, Joseph Locke House (the old Tax office) from 10am. Easels, boards, paper, materials and refreshments are included. The poster is available to download so you can share with your friends.
Tarra for now!
